After enduring the necessary, but hardly comfortable 45 minute prodding and poking ultrasound, we were rewarded to hear that our new baby is healthy and growing right on target. And a boy. If you look closely in the picture above, you can see a little face profile with nose and lips (on the right side) and some tangled up legs (on the left). The ultrasound tech even gave us a neatly labeled picture with an arrow drawn to point out the prominent male-ness, but what kind of parents do you think we are?? You'll have to come change some diapers if you really are that curious. :)
Jack, Charlotte and Anna all came in to see the baby at the end of the exam. From Charlotte (upon seeing the spine) "Mommy! Baby brother looks like an alligator!" Jack was subdued-- either afraid his new little sibling was an alien, or he was annoyed that he had to stop watching "Teenage mutant ninja turtles" in the waiting room. Anna was just fussy and ready for a nap but she did squeal with delight when she saw the baby wiggling on the screen. Maybe she was just happy that Mom hadn't disappeared for good.
We're fielding name suggestions. (In honor of the sometimes wacky names we run into here in Vegas, we're telling everyone that we can't decide between "Solstice" and "Raindrop". )

Yeah, a little boy!!! Matt and Jack are going to have a blast! (so will the girls, but now at least they're not out numbered). I thought you guys were liking Benjamin so that's what my vote is for. Either way Raindrop's cool too. I'm just excited to get another nephew!!!
Congrats! That's exciting! Alvin likes the name Dexter. I didn't think he was serious the first time he brought it up, but he was. It's grown on me a little over time, but not enough that I would ever choose it. So it's all yours if you want it. :) ha! That's kind of like trying a bite of food, saying "ooh, I don't like this," and then asking the person next to you if they'd like to have it! Good luck!
WOW a little boy!! I bet Matt is excited about that! Nice way to even things out!
Woohoo! A boy!!! Why don't you start a new trend and name your boy a girls name (to counteract all the boy names being taken by girls). Or you could go the elements route- Blaze, Stone, Boulder... OR I read the summary on the new social security name list that Cullen is the boys name with the fastest growing popularity.
(hehehehe)
Congrats!!!! Now it'll all be evened out! Poor Tom will probably always be majorly outnumbered around here! Hmm...names...Beckham? We are big soccer fans around here!
I knew it was going to be a boy! I always vote for traditional names that are gender-specific and not too popular. Do NOT name him Edward or Cullen. PLEASE.
So excited for you!
Congrats! Very tricky to tell me about Charlotte's hair and not about having a boy!
